District Grand Master R.Ill.Comp Fraser presented Ill.Comp Richard Beecroft with his Silver Trowel Certificate during a recent visit to his Council.
At last year’s Annual General Meeting it was announced that, rather than present Silver Trowel Certificates at the AGM, they would instead be presented in the recipient’s own Council. The aim of this change is to raise the profile of the Silver Trowel Award among the Companions and to add greater dignity and ceremony to Council meetings. By presenting the award while visiting Councils across the District, the District Grand Master is able to recognise recipients in front of their fellow Companions and highlight the importance of their contribution.
The meeting was also notable for another important piece of work within the Council. The Ceremony of Royal Master was carried out for Graham Coates, with the ceremony conducted by Ill.Comp Roger Quick. The work was delivered in an excellent manner and added further distinction to what was already a memorable meeting.
