On Friday the 23rd August the District Grand Master, R Ill Companion David M Cordell, along with nine of his District Officers, set off early to attend the meeting of Saddleworth Council No 323, held at Uppermill Masonic Hall.

Everyone was greeted with a cup of tea or coffee along with some biscuits, along with the friendly faces that we have come to expect in Cryptic Masonry.

The District Team was led into the temple, in an exemplary manner by the Deputy District DC Ill Comp Martin Murray assisted by the Assistant District DC Ill Graham Smith.

The Main Business of the day was to Choose as Select Masters Comps David Russell and John David Platt, the Ceremony was led by the TIM Ill Comp Carl Buckley and his co-rulers Comp William Richmond and Comp David Dredge.

Following the Ceremony the District Grand Master, gave an explanation of the arches, and where they were and why they are positioned such. He then presented three Grand Council Certificates to Companions David Hoyle, William Taylor and David Ogden.

We then adjourned to the festive board, where we were treated to a feast of delicious soup in abundance, followed by steak pie, chips and mushy peas, then to finish, rice pudding with jam, which was all home made.

if you have never visited here before put the next meeting in your diary, you will not be disappointed.
